As Carl Hankey transitions from an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school to an IB-inspired model, the role of the Carl Hankey IB Education Foundation (CHIEF) is evolving as well.
Going forward, CHIEF will broaden its focus to support education at Hankey as a whole, while continuing to work closely with PTSA and school leadership. The good news is that current CHIEF funds are sufficient to cover the school’s projected IB-related expenses for both the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years. Because of that, CHIEF will not hold an IB fundraiser this year.
As part of this transition, the Hawk Trot, previously a CHIEF fundraiser, will now support PTSA programs and activities. CHIEF will still be actively involved in helping make the event a success. We are excited to work alongside PTSA to continue this fun Hankey tradition and help ensure it benefits our school community.
